Written and recorded during lockdown, this track emerged from my work with Kidderminster College / Mas Lab raising awareness around the refugee crisis, the violence of borders and their risk to human lives through forced migration. Violence follows in the wake of money/resources as governments and the super rich are driven by greed and profit margins that trump the value of human life. The fight for CLIMATE JUSTICE is therefore clearly and undeniably the same fight for HUMAN JUSTICE.

I tread the red dust
It sticks to my skin
Embeds itself deep in my pores
I stand on this crust
This crust it wears thin
The more we weep to heal its sores

Borders are wounds in constant pain
Run deep ripped open over and again
Not dressed
Left unaddressed they fester
They don't heal
Far East and out West
Laid to rest
Because it pays to deal in human lives
